SESSION TIMES |
|
Here at
Mansfield Swimming Club we welcome swimmers from the age of 5 years who are
able to enter the water on their own. All our swimming sessions are
supervised by qualified teaching staff who ooooze enthusiasm and talent.
We
provide an ideal environment for your child to first gain water confidence
and subsequently to develop excellent swimming techniques.
Every parent wants their child to swim for various reasons, the main one
being that they want their child to be able to get out of trouble if they
find themselves in the water. So, our aim is to provide swimmers with the
ability to be able to do just that, but if we can make them Olympic
champions at the same time then that’s a bonus!
I f you would like to visit us please
email with your name and brief
details of the swimmer including age and previous experience (even if
that is none!) and we will get back to you with an appropriate session
to come to.
The sessions are:
 Loughborough Training Sessions

The
Little Pool sessions are split into two ability levels:-
|
|
|
Group Descriptions |
 |
Dolphins - This session is aimed at swimmers who are working towards their
first 5m swimming certificate. The lessons will consist of basic swimming
techniques, water skills and water confidence and most importantly – LOTS OF
FUN!! To become a Shark, swimmers will be able to confidently perform basic
floatation techniques and be able to demonstrate recognisable strokes with
their faces in the water.
|
 |
Sharks – This is for our very grown up Little Pool Swimmers who have now
passed their 5m swimming certificate and are heading towards their Olympic
dream, well their 10m anyway! As a follow on from the Dolphins, lots of
emphasis is placed on water skills and basic technique. To progress into
the Big Pool swimmers are expected to posses a basic knowledge of all four
strokes, which are front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly.
|
 |
Whales
- Once swimmers have achieved their 10m swimming certificate and have
learned the basics, they will progress into the widths sessions in THE
BIG POOL! Your swimming coach will keep you informed throughout of your
child’s progress and will tell you when your child is ready to move up a
level. There are three different levels in the widths class. When your
teacher has finally moved you through all the sessions you should have a
good knowledge of all the turns and starts, be able to show good technique
on all four strokes, and be able to skull. When your coach thinks you are
ready to move on he/she will assess you and inform you of your new lengths
session. |
