As a club we believe in working with each member to be the best that they can be, to feel confident and safe in a friendly and competitive club, In order to achieve this we utilize the best tools available giving our large number of experienced coaching staff the ability to analyse and advise swimmers on how they can improve and of course with pool time available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday the ability to deliver this in the water.

Club Time Trials – These are held periodically throughout the year and also through our Licensed Level 4 Time Trials towards the end of the year around December (The Licensed Time Trial results can be used towards county championship qualifying times and also appear on British Swimming Rankings).

Club Championships take place on an annual basis usually around June over several weekends, this is an opportunity for ALL swimmers to take part from beginner level upwards and it is your chance to achieve PB’s and County Qualification times in race conditions with your team.

League Galas – We take part in the Stage 1,2 and 3 gala’s, the Derby & Notts Junior League gala and the Arena league, At These events the club selects swimmers to compete for the club and you will be informed if your child is selected, he club competes against opposing clubs, some of these leagues have licensed times which can be used towards County Championship Qualification and also appear on British Swimming Rankings. Selected swimmers may not be chosen to swim their choice of events as this is a Team entry.

Open Meets – These competitions are licensed at various Levels and hosted by Clubs, we ourselves hold 2 a year at present,. We encourage all of our swimmers to take part in these meets especially the ones that are targeted by our club, if you wish to enter these please email mscopenmeets@gmail.com so that you may be included on any emails concerning the meets that we as a club enter. Level 2 and 3 meets give the chance to achieve qualification towards Regional Championships and Level 1 meets towards National Championship qualification, they also of course count towards County Championship Qualification and each Open Meet have their own criteria for entry.

County Championships – Dependent on venue these are either Level 1 or 2 meets and for many swimmers are the main target for the year (along with our Cub Championships), opportunities should be taken to try and achieve County qualification or to move up in the rankings within the club by entering open meets.

After any competition or Time Trial the results are checked for PB’s set and updates made to both the PB list in the member area ( you will need a password available from a committee member at the club)
