MSC shine at Tony Holmes Open Meet

Three Mansfield swimmers made the trip to Harvey Hadden for the annual Tony Holmes Open Meet, hosted by Nottingham Leander, and delivered a string of excellent performances.

The meet offers heats and finals for the four 50m strokes with heat declared winner for the 100IM.

Harry picked up a clean sweep of gold medals across all of his events winning all of his finals from lane 4 after solid heat swims. He topped the podium in freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke and individual medley, earning the award for Top Male Swimmer. His final swim of the day was the 50m freestyle final where he produced a personal best to finish on a high.

Zara was also in fantastic form, reaching the final in all four of her 50m events. She took first place in the 50m butterfly, claimed silver in both freestyle and breaststroke, and finished fourth in backstroke. Zara also added a gold in the 100m IM and recorded new personal bests in the IM as well as the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly. Her performances placed her joint fourth in the Top Girl standings.

Charlotte completed a full programme of events and impressed with personal best times in both the 100m individual medley and 50m breaststroke. Her consistency across all races was a great reflection of her hard work in training.

Despite having just three swimmers in attendance, Mansfield finished an impressive fifth out of thirteen visiting clubs, underlining the quality of their performances across the day.

Well done to Harry, Zara and Charlotte for flying the flag in style 💙💛
