MSC Swimmers Inspired at AP Race London International 2025
On Monday 26th May, a group of Mansfield Swimming Club swimmers and their families travelled to the AP London International — and experienced a day of elite sport, entertainment, and pure inspiration at one of the biggest swimming events in the UK calendar.
Held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre and hosted by Olympic champion Adam Peaty and the AP Race Team, the event brought together over 850 athletes from 38 different nations, creating a truly global spectacle. Over the course of the three days, a staggering 10,662 spectators packed into the venue — and MSC were proud to be among them.
A World-Class Event
The standard of racing was nothing short of breathtaking, with world-class swimmers delivering lightning-fast performances and thrilling finishes. One of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly the Men’s 200m freestyle, which brought the evening to a dramatic close with a high-stakes final that had the crowd on its feet — a reminder of the excitement that elite swimming can deliver.
Adding to the energy and atmosphere was the fantastic exhibition race between Adam Peaty and American swim influencer Kyle Sockwell. It was fast, fun, and full of showmanship — and proved to be a massive crowd-pleaser. The evening had a true entertainment edge, capped off with DJs blasting music from the 10m diving platform, creating a vibe rarely seen at a swim meet.
A Lasting Impact
For our MSC swimmers, this was far more than a day out — it was a masterclass in what’s possible through dedication and belief. Being there (even as fans) at an event of this scale helped fire up new goals and fresh motivation.
We are incredibly grateful to Adam, Ed and the AP Race Team for putting on such a dynamic, inclusive, and high-energy event. The balance of elite sport, entertainment, and community was spot-on — and it left a lasting impression on every swimmer and family who attended.
