MSC Youngsters Shine in Derby & Notts Junior League Final

On Saturday 7th June, a talented squad of Mansfield Swimming Club’s youngest swimmers competed in the final round of the Derby & Notts Junior League, capping off a brilliant campaign with a 5th place finish on the night and overall.

Against some of the strongest junior teams in the region, our swimmers gave it everything in the pool, racing with heart, team spirit, and a growing sense of confidence. The standard was exceptionally high across all three rounds, but MSC’s squad rose to the challenge. On the night we had 11 individual personal bests as well as 10 relay PBs which is a solid return in a tough environment. Fox also lowered two of her own club records.

This year’s campaign marks a significant milestone for the club — it’s been decades since Mansfield Swimming Club has reached this level in the junior league. That achievement is a credit to the commitment, talent, and attitude of our younger swimmers, and to the coaches and families who support them.

A Fond Farewell to Zara and Max

This round also marked a special moment for the team, as Zara and Max swam in their final Junior League event before aging up. Both have been outstanding role models throughout their time in the league, always leading by example both in and out of the water.

Their commitment, positivity, and leadership have left a lasting impression on the next wave of MSC swimmers, and we know they’ll continue to develop as they move up.

👏 A huge well done to every swimmer who has taken part in the league this year — you’ve done yourselves and the club proud. And thank you to our amazing team of coaches, volunteers, and supporters who make these opportunities possible.
