A fantastic weekend for MSC swimming across three Open Meets

Mansfield Swim Club enjoyed a fantastic weekend of racing on the 4th and 5th July, with swimmers competing across three different meets: the Northampton SC Summer Meet, the Repton Summer Spintacular, and the Tony Holmes Sprint Meet hosted by Leander SC.

Northampton SC Summer Meet

Grace represented Mansfield superbly, delivering two excellent swims. She placed fourth in the 100 Backstroke with a new personal best and also achieved a PB in the 50 Butterfly.

Repton Summer Spintacular

Kornelia produced an outstanding set of swims at Repton. She raced five events, achieved personal bests in all five, and secured third place in the 100 Backstroke in the combined 9 and 10 years age group.

Tony Holmes Sprint Meet

This meet saw Mansfield’s largest event of the weekend, with 27 swimmers competing at Harvey Hadden Sports Village. The squad delivered an exceptional set of results, completing 155 swims and achieving 58 personal bests. 21 swimmers reached the finals, and the club collected a total of 34 medals: 9 gold, 17 silver, and 8 bronze.

  • Noah (11) — silver in the 50 Fly and 100 IM, bronze in the 50 Breast and 50 Free

  • Layla (12) — bronze in the 50 Breast

  • Fox (10) — gold in the 100 IM, 50 Breast, and 50 Free

  • Thea (14) — silver in the 100 IM and 50 Free, bronze in the 50 Back

  • Zara (13) — silver in the 50 Breast and 50 Fly, bronze in the 100 IM

  • Lily Rose (10) — silver in the 50 Free, bronze in the 50 Back

  • Albert (9) — silver in the 50 Back, 50 Breast, and 50 Free

  • Maya (11) — silver in the 100 IM, 50 Free, and 50 Back

  • Harry (11) — gold in the 50 Fly, 50 Back, 100 IM, 50 Breast, and 50 Free

  • Isabelle (9) — gold in the 50 Free, silver in the 100 IM and 50 Back, bronze in the 50 Breast

Fox broke two of her own short course club records in the Female 10 years 50 Freestyle and the Female 10 years 100 IM. Harry won gold in all 5 of his events and was awarded Top Boy. Mansfield Swim Club also proudly won the Top Visiting Club award, highlighting the depth and strength of the team.

A huge well done to every swimmer who competed across all three meets. Whether it was a personal best, a final, a medal, trying a new event or simply racing with determination, each swimmer contributed to an outstanding weekend for the club.
