Mansfield Open National Arena League Campaign with Strong Start

Mansfield Swim Club kicked off their 2026 National Arena League campaign on Saturday 10th October at Rugby, competing against a strong field of clubs in Round 1.

Despite a number of swimmers stepping up to compete in older age groups, Mansfield produced an excellent performance, recording 11 individual personal best times and a fabulous set of results across the gala, claiming:

  • 10 first place finishes

  • 6 second place finishes

  • 6 third place finishes

  • 8 fourth place finishes

These performances helped Mansfield remain in contention throughout a tightly fought competition. At the end of an exciting night's racing, Mansfield finished 5th with 262 points.

Final points

  1. Walsall – 317 points

  2. Bicester Blue Fins – 273 points

  3. Stratford Sharks – 267 points

  4. City of Coventry B – 263 points

  5. Mansfield – 262 points

  6. Arnold – 206 points

  7. Stourbridge (Hosts) – 160 points

The result highlights just how competitive the gala was, with Mansfield finishing only one point behind fourth place and five points behind third place.

Most of the team after a busy night of racing - special shout out to Liam who missed the team photo but swam a brilliant PB in the 100 back!

With Round 1 complete, Mansfield can take plenty of positives into the next round of the National Arena League. The combination of strong individual performances, relay teamwork and a willingness to step up when needed provides a solid foundation for the rest of the competition. On to Round 2 in November!

As always, a big thank you to everyone who made the journey to Rugby and either swam, supported, team managed, coached or officiated.
