MSC Nova Swimmers Rack Up Medals and Records in Northampton
Seven swimmers from MSC took part in the Northampton SC Summer Festival this weekend, representing Nova Centurion at what proved to be a highly competitive Long Course meet.
Awards were given to the top six swimmers in each event for ages ten through twelve, and top three in the older age groups. Mansfield’s stars more than held their own across the weekend, racking up medals, personal bests and even club records.
Frank returned with a great haul, winning three events — the 200 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke and 50 Backstroke — and claiming second place in both the 400 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly. All five performances were Long Course PBs.
Nyla competed in three events — 200 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke — with PBs in all of them
Isla made the top six with a fifth-place finish in the 50 Breaststroke and achieved one Long Course PB.
Noah impressed with victory in the 100 Breaststroke, fourth in 50 Butterfly and sixth in 50 Backstroke, all achieved with new Long Course PBs.
Layla added to the medal count with three golds in the 50 Breaststroke, 100 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle, alongside third place in the 200 IM and fourth in the 200 Freestyle. Layla recorded four Long Course PBs during the meet.
Fox delivered a dominant display across six events, taking first place in five — 200 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 50 Backstroke, 200 IM and 100 Backstroke — and finishing second in the 50 Freestyle. Fox also smashed six Long Course club records, including several she already held.
Evie-Mae placed fourth in the 100 Butterfly and recorded PBs in all six of her events. Her effort in the 100 Fly also set a new club Long Course record.
Beyond the medals and records, there was plenty of fun to be had as well. Several swimmers earned rubber duck prizes for winning their heats, adding a splash of colour to an already brilliant weekend.
With performances like these, Mansfield’s Nova swimmers are making their mark on the Long Course scene.
Well done to all swimmers and families who took part and represented the club with pride.
