From Halloween Heats to National Stage

October has been a busy and successful month for Mansfield Swimming Club, with three swimmers competing at three different meets in the final weekend. From spooky themed events to national-level competition, our athletes delivered strong performances, personal bests, and podium finishes.

Liam at Belper Marlins "Ghoul in the Pool" – Matlock

Liam took on six events at the Halloween-themed "Ghoul in the Pool" meet hosted by Belper Marlins at The Arc Leisure Centre in Matlock. Awards were given to the top six in each event, and Liam made the most of the opportunity:

  • 🥈 2nd – 100m Individual Medley (PB)

  • 🥉 3rd – 100m Breaststroke

  • 🥉 3rd – 100m Freestyle (PB)

  • 5th – 100m Backstroke

  • 6th – 50m Freestyle, 100m Butterfly

A solid set of results with two personal bests and four top three finishes. Great work, Liam!

Harry at Beverley Barracudas Halloween Meet

Harry competed in the 10-year age group at the Beverley Barracudas Halloween Meet, held in an 8-lane pool. He raced in five events and delivered a spooky performance:

  • 🥇 1st – 100m Individual Medley (PB)

  • 🥇 1st – 50m Breaststroke (PB)

  • 🥇 1st – 50m Backstroke (equalled PB)

  • 🥈 2nd – 50m Butterfly (PB)

  • 🥈 2nd – 50m Freestyle (PB)

Four personal bests, five podium finishes and Top Male (10) an outstanding meet for Harry!

Rhianna at Masters Nationals – Ponds Forge

Rhianna represented MSC at the prestigious Masters Nationals held at Ponds Forge, competing in the 18–24 age group. She swam three events and showed excellent form:

  • 50m Backstroke – 0.25s PB

  • 50m Freestyle – 0.21s off PB

  • 100m Breaststroke – 1.27s PB and 11th place nationally!

A fantastic showing at national level. Well done, Rhianna!
