Mansfield Swim Club Impress at Bakewell and Etwall Spring Open Meets

Mansfield Swim Club enjoyed an outstanding period of racing across two open meets this spring, beginning with the Bakewell Spring Open Meet on 22 March and followed by the Etwall Eagles Spring Short Course Open Meet on Sunday 19 April. Across both competitions, the club’s swimmers delivered excellent performances, strong progression and a series of impressive medal winning swims.

Bakewell Spring Open Meet

Two Mansfield swimmers, Elise and Jenson, represented the club at the Bakewell Spring Open Meet. Between them, they completed 11 races, with Elise competing in five events and Jenson in six. Both swimmers showed great determination and strong racing skills throughout the day. Elise’s efforts were rewarded with a bronze medal in the 100m Backstroke, while Jenson produced a powerful swim in the 200m Breaststroke to secure a silver medal.

Etwall Eagles Spring Short Course Open Meet

Six swimmers represented the club at Etwall, producing a brilliant set of results. Across 40 swims the team achieved 16 personal best times and collected a superb total of 31 medals, made up of 18 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze.

Racing Successes

All six swimmers contributed to a strong team performance, showing excellent progress across all strokes and distances. The group produced a consistent stream of podium finishes throughout the day, with swimmers demonstrating confidence, determination and impressive race skills. Personal bests were achieved across a wide range of events, reflecting the hard work being put in during training.

Nyla delivered a well rounded set of performances, securing medals across freestyle, backstroke and individual medley events, showing strength and consistency throughout the meet. Noah produced a series of excellent swims, earning medals in freestyle, butterfly and backstroke as well as individual medley, demonstrating strong technique and impressive versatility. Fox enjoyed a highly successful day with medal winning swims across all four strokes and multiple distances while breaking five club short course records in the 50 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 50 Butterfly and 100 Butterfly. Chloe produced a confident and composed swim in the individual medley, earning a gold medal with a strong performance. Evie Mae delivered a dominant set of performances across a wide range of events, collecting medals in every stroke and showcasing her all round ability. Clarke put in a fabulous set of swims across four races, showing great determination and skill so soon after moving into a new age group.

With a huge medal tally, a wave of personal bests, several club records rewritten and strong performances across two open meets, Mansfield Swim Club can be incredibly proud of the swimmers who competed. Their commitment, determination and enthusiasm continue to shine through, and the results highlight the exciting progress being made across the squad.
