Mansfield Swimming Club Announces New Coaching Leadership

Mansfield Swimming Club is proud to announce the next chapter in its coaching journey with two key appointments that build on the exceptional legacy created over the past two decades.

Adam Jeacock Appointed Head Coach

Adam Jeacock returns to Mansfield Swimming Club as our new Head Coach, succeeding the hugely respected Barry Tindall. Barry has led the club for an extraordinary 18 years and has been a constant presence on poolside for more than 25 years. His influence on generations of Mansfield swimmers is immeasurable and the foundations he leaves behind are a testament to his dedication, expertise and passion for the sport.

Adam joins us from Nottingham Leander where he has successfully led their Junior Performance Squad for the last five years. His work there has been widely recognised for developing technically strong, competition ready swimmers and for creating a positive and ambitious training environment.

For Adam this is also a homecoming. Having begun his own swimming journey at Mansfield he brings both a deep connection to the club and a fresh perspective to poolside. He is excited to return to his boyhood club and help shape the next generation of Mansfield swimmers.

Rich Smith Becomes Head of Development

The club is also delighted to confirm that Rich Smith will take on the role of Head of Development, following the outstanding service of Grahame Hempsall. Grahame has been Head of Development for 15 years and has contributed more than 25 years of coaching expertise to Mansfield Swimming Club. His commitment to nurturing young swimmers and building strong technical foundations has been central to the club’s success.

Rich has already played a significant role in the development of our younger swimmers in recent years and this new position formalises and expands the work he has been doing across the club. He will lead the development pathway for our emerging swimmers ensuring they build confidence, strong skills and a love for the sport.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Barry and Grahame

The club extends its deepest thanks to both Barry and Grahame for their remarkable service. Their combined contribution of more than 50 years on deck has shaped the identity, culture and success of Mansfield Swimming Club. They leave behind a strong and stable platform for the future and the entire club is grateful for everything they have given.

Looking Ahead

With Adam and Rich stepping into their new roles in April, Mansfield Swimming Club is entering an exciting new era. Their energy, experience and vision will help drive the club forward while honouring the legacy built by Barry and Grahame. We look forward to supporting them as they lead the next generation of Mansfield swimmers.
